The clock woke us up at six in the morning. With our eyes almost closed we went to have breakfast and then we got ready to climb the mountain. Emei Shan is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains of the Middle Kingdom. If we would go on foot we would need ten hours that is why we combine with the bus, cable car and walk. We get into the cable car at the 2540 meters and the temperature is already at zero degrees. Because Mateja is of a more freezing nature she lend the additional jacket and Jure keeps warm with his wind stopper. The main tourist attraction is awaiting the sunrise at the top of the mountain. We get a little hungry so we take out the frozen Snickers and try to eat it.
When we descent we are accompanied by monkeys. They take a bag of peanuts and eat just like humans. How sweet! Unfortinelty when they see that you have something in your pocket they jump on you and take it out.
Frozen to the bones we come to the valley. We stop to have lunch and get a little warmer. We continue our journey on the other side of the mountain. The road is surrounded with green plants. On the way we stop to have a look at some Buddhist temples.
We return to Chengdu at 21.30 hour. They drop us off at the hotel, which we already have reserved. It is a two star hotel (180 Yuan per night plus breakfast).
