Taking a train from Xian to Chengdu

Because of our experiences with train travel we come to the waiting area one hour before the departure. We wait in a long line so we can be the first one to step on the train to put our luggage in the compartment.
We drive for sixteen hours only problem was the air conditioning which was turned on the whole night.
