Taking a hard sleeper from Jinan to Xian

We are confronted with an 18 hour long train drive to Xian. The train has a delay so it will take a little longer. The afternoon we wait through on an narrow hallway and when the night comes we lie down to our beds. The beds are not so comfortable and we also need to sleep with our backpack, because all the luggage compartments are full. It it better to be the first on the train so you can put the baggage in the right place. The ride passes by quickly, only the habit of some people can get on your nerves. Some neigh, blow through the nose, spit and throng in the crowd.
